Mother of the Bride Dress More Anticipated than Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress

While all of England and possibly the whole world wait for one of the most anticipated celebrity weddings of the year – new details have been released. Kate Middleton has not announced who will design her bridal dress or the mother of the bride dress, but Palace officials have announced that Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams will preside over the April 29^th, 2011 11:00am wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

While special occasion dresses for the bridal party have not been selected as of yet – it is known that the royal couple will travel from the wedding at Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace by carriage. The festive wedding procession will take place as the carriage passes by several of London’s major landmarks.

The carriage route will go through Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and the Mall. The route is likely to be packed with revelers and well-wishers hoping to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds. Upon arrival at Buckingham Palace, the couple is expected to make a brief appearance on the balcony.

Once the couple greets the crowd from the balcony, next on the agenda is a star studded royal wedding reception at Buckingham Palace hosted by Queen Elizabeth II, William’s grandmother.

The guest list will be an assortment of royals, celebrities, family and friends all dressed to impress in the latest special occasion dresses of the season. One can only imagine how many honeysuckle special occasion dresses will be in attendance.

Mother of the Bride wedding humor is upon us as the Bridal Couture Event of the Year is about to hit New York City. Be sure to visit Blake and Company’s wholesale mother of the bride and special occasion dress showroom.

Here’s the joke:

A beautiful young bride was excited as her wedding day was fast approaching. She was flying high and nothing was going to burst her bubble – especially not her parents’ nasty divorce.

Her mother had discovered the perfect mother of the bride dress to wear for the special occasion. Her mother was going to be the best dressed mother of the bride in the history of mother of the bride dresses!

However, a week before the wedding, the bride found out that her father’s hot new young wife had purchased the same exact dress as her mother.

What would you do? Well, the young bride calmly explained the whole situation and politely asked her father’s new young wife to pick out a different special occasion dress.

The young wife refused to get a different dress and demanded that the mother of the bride change her dress instead.

The bride didn’t know what to do, so she turned to her mother for advice. Her mother told her not to worry about it, that she would just choose another dress.

Her daughter was thrilled and together they went shopping for a new dress and they found one that was gorgeous!

After purchasing the dress, which was kind of expensive, the daughter asked her mother if she needed the receipt to return the original dress. The mother told the daughter that she decided to keep both dresses.

The daughter was surprised and asked the mom what occasion would she be able to wear such a fancy dress to.

The mother just smiled and told her that she had the perfect occasion to wear the original dress to – the rehearsal dinner, the night before the wedding!

It seems that the mother of the bride got the last laugh.

The Perfect Wedding Date 10/10/10

Brides and grooms in large numbers are looking forward to Sunday for what will surely be one of the busiest days in this year’s wedding calendar! What’s so special about October 10, 2010? Some couples are hoping that the date will bring them luck because the date when abbreviated comes out to 10/10/10. The number 10 is considered lucky, so to have three 10’s in the date is a recipe for success – it all adds up to the ‘perfect day’. Not only that, it will surely make their anniversary easier to remember.

Some wedding registration offices are even planning to open on a Sunday to allow couples to get married on the lucky date.

With the exception of those who plan to elope, if the wedding plans are not set by now, then it’s safe to say that 10/10/10 will come to pass. But – not to worry… now is the perfect time to start planning your November 2011 wedding – and I have just the date – the 11^th. Friday, November 11^th, 2011 will surely be a popular evening for weddings – 11/11/11 is lucky too!

What Color Should the Mother of the Groom Wear?

When choosing a mother of the bride or mother of the groom dress, one should consider the color. Do you think that it is a good idea for the mother of the groom to wear the same color as the mother of the bride so that they match?

As a rule of thumb, it is a good idea to wear something that coordinates with the wedding colors. However, it is important for the mother of the groom to blend in. Therefore, it is not a good idea for the mother of the groom to match the same color of the mother of the bride. Instead it is a better idea for the mother of the groom to wear a complementary color to the mother of the bride; but not the same color.

In addition, a mother of the groom must think about how the wedding photos will look. Does the mother of the groom want to stand out? – hopefully not…

It is a good idea if everyone wears colors within the same hues or colors that are considered complementary. For example, it is not a good choice for a mother of the groom to wear a dark color dress to the wedding if the wedding colors are light or if the mother of the bride is wearing a light colored dress.

Also, if the wedding colors contain deep fall shades, it is best not for the mother of the groom to blend in rather than dress is a pastel color.

When thinking about dressing a mother of the bride or mother of the groom, it is important to keep one word in mind – blend. If a mother of the groom does not coordinate with the wedding colors, then it will be the first thing that everyone notices in the wedding pictures and it would probably get the mother of the groom off to a bad start with her son’s new wife.
