How To Be a Perfect Mother of The Bride!

When Your daughter’s or soon to be daughter in law’s wedding is coming up, make sure to follow this guideline to be an A+ mother of the bride ! First thing to remember is that it is not YOUR wedding! Of course if she picks a hideous wedding dress you have the right to say your opinion , but when it comes to what color theme she wants .. Let her enjoy and pick her own colors! Make sure you are there to give her support, you are allowed to give opinions, just not demands ( yes there definitely is a difference.) Try and do the “less fun” wedding planning. For example searching for affordable venues, bands, caterer, photographer, making an invitation list for your guests.. etc. Once your daughter or daughter in law chooses what she wants.. Be sure to express how happy you are for her and how beautiful she is! Be supportive and don’t cause her stress! When it comes to your dress… Listen to the color she wants you to wear .. But the dress is totally up to you! Well not totally it has to be approved by her first. Make sure to pick a dress that can also be found in our showroom, and enjoy the wedding!

How To Choose The Right Color Dress

When choosing a dress it is always smart to not only make sure the dress fits, but make sure the color looks right on you! There are many ways to find the right color fit. The first step would be basing the color off your hair color. If you are blond go for oranges , blacks, reds, beiges, silvers, taupes, and light blues/ purples/ pinks. If you have Brown hair go for greens,blues, whites, pinks, browns, and golds.
Redheads should usually stay away from reds and oranges. They tend to clash. Black does the opposite effect and will most definitely make you stand out! Greens and ivories will also look gorgeous. Eyes can also be a factor in choosing a dress color. Blue eyes stand out when you wear well of course, blue! Green eyes really pop with purples browns and golds. Brown eyes go better with a green or gold coloring. Here at Blake and company, we hope that this will help you choose the best color on you when choosing a mother of the bride dress!

We have a lot to be excited about this year! Sonia Pena has arrived in the showroom and reaction has been fabulous. Caterina has the stores so happy that they can satisfy every customer with a wide color and size availability. Daymor’s new line looks young and fresh. Damianou is the line to buy with lace being so hot. Our custom lines Ideas by Barbara, Ildiko, Scaravelli, Sia Sia and JSS Knitwear keep our specialty stores looking different. This is going to be a great year for Blake & Company!!!

Well…..another Bridal Market is in the books here at Blake & Company. A BIG thanks to all the wonderful stores that came to the showroom to see the Spring 2013 collections. One of the highlights was Caterina by Jordan. All of the stores loved the line. The young looks…prices…..huge color availability made it a winner!!! The Spring season is going to be FANTASTIC!!!!!!

Blake & Company is very happy to be adding Caterina by Jordan to our showroom! This line is amazing. All styles are available in over 75 colors, sizing is 0-34 in missy and petite sizes, various lengths offered on select styles and rush cuts are available. The looks vary from beautiful light chiffons to dramatic taffeta to embellished tulle. Perfect for Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom. We can’t wait to show you the collection!
