Which Oscar Award Winning Actress is Getting Ready for Role as Real Life Mother of the Bride?

Calling all mother of the bride dress designers! Calling all special occasion dress designers! Susan Sarandon is getting ready to play one of the biggest roles of her life – as the mother of the bride at her daughter, Eva Amurri’s wedding.

This wedding is sure to be a star studded event as the finest special occasion dresses will be on display. Sarandon is no stranger to gala events, but I’m sure that she won’t be digging in her closet to find a special occasion dress for this event. As a former Hollywood starlet, it’s possible that once Sarandon heard about her daughter’s engagement she immediately began the hunt for the mother of the bride dress.

It will be very interesting to see what style mother of the bride dress the Oscar winning Sarandon will go for. Maybe it will be honeysuckle – the color of the year for special occasion dresses in 2011.

Sarandon’s daughter, actress Eva Amurri, 25 got engaged to former Major League Soccer player Kyle Martino, 29. Amurri’s father is Italian director Franco Amurri.

Tip #8: Skip the mini dresses and mini-skirts. Longer skirts are in. The longer skirts not only provide fashion sense, but they are also more comfortable than mini-skirts that have to constantly be adjusted.

Tip #9: Looking for a sexy and sophisticated look at the same time? Try incorporating lace, pearls and layers of veils. This combination can give the special occasion dress client a sexy and classic look that is sure to turn heads.

It’s official! As reported in a previous Blake and Company wholesale special occasion dress blog, the color gods have spoken! We broke the news here on December 3^rd, 2010 in our special occasion dress blog: The color of the year is Honeysuckle! This announcement came by way of the Pantone Color Institute. It is no joke – the Pantone Color Institute has arguably the largest influence in selecting color trends for fashion. You can be sure that the mother of the bride dress designers and special occasion gown designers are already at work to be the first to release their honeysuckle lines.

To people in the know, it’s no surprise that honeysuckle is the 2011 color of the year because at New York City’s Fashion Week the reddish-pink honeysuckle made its way up and down the catwalk several times as models strutted their stuff in honeysuckle special occasion dresses.

Pantone Color Institute is a good place for special occasion dress designers and mother of the bride wholesalers to go check out what colors are expected to be big in the upcoming season. Tip #4: Breezy, ruffled special occasion dresses are usually thought of as summer wear, however if you are feeling particularly brave – try this look in the fall or winter and the results can be fantastic if you can pull it off.

Tip #5: Belts are a hot accessory this season. You don’t have to be a fashionista to wear a belt. But – to truly show your style – a true fashionista will spruce up a special occasion outfit with not one – but two belts! That’s right, it sounds risky – but the payoff might just be worth it!
