When we work with our clients in our New York Showroom the first thing that they tell us is that their customers do not want to look like typical “Mothers of the Bride and Groom”. We work closely with the designers of our collections to have plenty of options for our stores. Our goal is to provide our customers looks that are very flattering to all sizes. There are “dresses” and there are “magic dresses“. These are styles that are often difficult to convince the customers to try on but, once she does she loses 10 pounds, gets taller and feels so amazing she has to have the dress. This is why Mother of the Brides and Mother of the Grooms have to have an open mind when shopping. The sales people in the stores that work with clients have seen everything and really know what is going to flatter all body types. We were so excited to discover that both the Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom in the movie “Jumping the Broom” are wearing Damianou! Angela Bassett and Loretta Divine both look fantastic. Damianou is so easy to wear, is dressy without beading and has the vintage look that Mothers of the Bride and Groom are looking for today.

A trunk show is a great way to try styles that you might not feel are for your customers and beef up your inventory at the height of your season. We ship in dresses that you don’t already own in your store and depending on the time of year we can let you keep them for 3-7 days. I can’t tell you how excited our stores sales teams get having the samples of our collections. Mothers of the Bride love to see a large selection of dresses and this is a way to give them variety at minimal cost. Dates are limited so contact us to book your trunk show.

Well ……another year has flown by and here we are in 2012!!!! Lots of engagements this holiday season has our stores very busy selling gowns and dresses for the upcoming Weddings. Mothers are looking for young looking yet wearable styles in soft fabrics in a range of colors from black to azure blue to ivory. Here’s to a great year!!!
