The dress itself featured a hand-engineered lace floral design. Ivory satin material adorned the bodice. The dress took several workers hours and hours to create.

It is rumored that after several months and several secret fittings, the mother of the bride, Carole Middleton, opted for a different mother of the bride outfit leaving the original mother of the bride designer stunned.
It is predicted that as the Royal Wedding was being broadcast, mother of the bride dress designers and wedding dress designers were busy making replicas. It is highly likely that similarly styled designs will be featured in the months to come.
